AI Hackathon with Liantis

AI Hackathon with Liantis

A 24-hour AI hackathon that transformed 100 Liantis employees from AI newcomers to prototype builders, resulting in nine impressive demos. The event showcased both the power and limitations of low-code AI tools like Microsoft's Copilot Studio. I co-facilitated the hackathon with Nina Žižakić and Peter Vermaercke, guiding teams from ideation to final pitch.

About This Item

The intensive 24-hour format challenged participants to move quickly from idea generation to working prototypes, using Microsoft's Copilot Studio as the primary development platform. The hackathon revealed key insights about the current state of low-code AI development: while these tools significantly lower the barrier to entry for AI application development, allowing non-technical users to build functional prototypes, complexity and integration challenges still present significant hurdles for production-ready solutions. The event demonstrated that combining talented, motivated people with the right tools can create remarkable impact in a short timeframe. However, it also highlighted the gap between prototype and production, where issues like data integration, security, scalability, and enterprise-grade reliability become critical considerations that low-code platforms don't fully address.
